History

1988: The origins of Tigusto

Tigusto was founded in the Canton of Ticino in 1988 thanks to the vision of Pierluigi Zanchi, a pioneer of organic and sustainable food. From the beginning, the company stood out for its artisanal production of organic tofu, the use of local and certified organic ingredients, and a corporate policy focused on promoting a work-life balance.

1997: Organic Certification

Tigusto became one of the first companies in Switzerland to obtain organic certification, the same year the first federal ordinance on organic production was introduced. This achievement confirms the company's commitment to healthy and sustainable nutrition.

2002: Innovation with Organic Seitan

Tigusto expands its range by introducing hand-crafted organic seitan, offering new plant-based alternatives and strengthening its mission of promoting conscious eating.

It also offers Organic Vegetable Broth, a versatile product that enriches dishes such as rice, pasta and soups.

2003: Growth and new distribution channels

Tigusto SA is founded, marking an important step in the company's growth.

Entry into large-scale retail trade: Tigusto begins collaborating with Migros, Coop, and Manor, as well as several organic stores in the region.

First online presence: The website tigusto.ch is launched, opening a digital window to the world.

2007: Sustainability in Action

The first complete conversion of its CO2 emissions begins, through reforestation projects in desert areas (Burkina Faso).

Tigusto is MyClimate certified.

2012: Sustainability, one step at a time

The company takes a concrete step towards sustainability by installing its first rooftop photovoltaic system, thus reducing its environmental impact.

2014: New recipes and taste innovation

Tigusto expands its range with the Organic fake roast sauce , a delicious plant-based alternative that enhances tofu, rice, polenta, and many other dishes. A versatile product, perfect for creating new flavor experiences.

2023: Energy self-sufficiency

Thanks to the expansion of its photovoltaic system, Tigusto has become 80% self-sufficient in energy, confirming its environmental commitment. Its production currently covers 120% of its own needs and supplies energy to 50% of its vehicle fleet.

2025: A new chapter. New management, same values.

After years of dedication, Pierluigi Zanchi passes the baton to Pablo Wydler , an expert in the food and gastronomic sector, who becomes the new owner of Tigusto.

Pablo calls on board Tamara Brochetti , administrative and accounting manager, and Nora Ceresa , Marketing and Digital Manager, to strengthen and grow the company.

The future of Tigusto

With over 35 years of history, Tigusto continues its journey with passion, innovation, and respect for the environment, aiming to become a reference point for organic and artisanal food in Switzerland.
