SEITAN WITH CHIMICHURRI SAUCE

A dish brimming with personality, Seitan with chimichurri sauce combines the South American roots of an iconic sauce with the plant-based option of seitan. The fresh and aromatic sauce enhances the flavor of the seitan, making it succulent and spicy. Ideal as a high-protein vegan main course, it pairs perfectly with baked potatoes and a crispy green salad.

INGREDIENTS FOR 4 PEOPLE

  • 500g Organic Seitan, sliced
  • 2 bunches parsley, chopped
  • ½ bunch oregano, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 shallot, chopped
  • 1 dl extra virgin olive oil
  • 4 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1 chili pepper, chopped
  • Cumin and smoked paprika (optional)
  • salt and pepper

  • Prepare the chimichurri: Combine the parsley, oregano, garlic, shallot, oil, vinegar, chili pepper, cumin, sweet paprika, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Mix well and let stand.
  • Brown the seitan in a pan with a little oil for about 5 minutes per side, until golden brown.
  • Serve the seitan slices piping hot, generously seasoned with chimichurri sauce.
